    Much of today's conversation has been about Jeremy Corbyn's failure to say Labour is committed to the Trident nuclear weapons programme.

    A Labour party spokeman has said it remained official policy to keep the deterrent.

    Scott Cato has said there needs to be a "real focus" on big companies which are avoiding paying tax.

    She says the UK needs to have "European co-operation" to make this happen and the law should be changed to ensure people cannot "move their profit from country to country".

    Green MEP Molly Scott Cato has said her party would consider "higher taxes for the better off" to increase NHS funding and roll back cuts to local council spending.

    She told the Sunday Politics programme that while she "wasn't clear on the precise income", she suggested those earning £100,000 would "pay a little bit more" and those on £150,000 "quite considerably more".

    On the Sunday Politics programme, Tory party chairman Patrick McLoughlin defended his party's spending in the last general election.

    You may recall the Conservatives were fined a record £70,00 for breaking election expenses rules in March.

    Andrew Neil pointed out some MPs in the party have also been investigated by the police over election spending.

    Mr McLoughlin said the party believed it had "fully complied with the electoral law as it was".

    He would not be drawn on what would happen if any of the MPs being investigated were charged.

    You might recall that Theresa May has said she will not take part in TV debates ahead of the general election.

    A petition, external has been set up demanding the prime minister takes part in a debate alongside the other leaders of the UK's main political parties.

    The number of signatures has now hit 112,000.

    Pressed further on whether he might stand in one of Labour's vacant seats, Mr Blair sidesteps the question, saying: "I fancy doing whatever I can to at least make this debate in the election into a proper debate." 

    He adds that he has never seen political poll leads of the kind the Conservatives currently enjoy over Labour, saying "there is almost something constitutional going on here". 

    Responding to the point that Labour had a landslide victory in 1997 when he was leader, Mr Blair adds: "Let's be very clear, I was winning a landslide with very centrist policies at the heart of it and without an issue of the importance of Brexit dominating the debate."

    Earlier, former prime minister Tony Blair told the World at One that he felt so passionate about Brexit that he was almost tempted to return to British politics.

    He told Mark Mardell: "I look at the British political scene at the moment and I actually almost feel motivated to go right back into it. 

    "We're just allowing ourselves to be hijacked by what is actually quite a small group of people with a strong ideology."

    Earlier, UKIP leader Paul Nuttall told the Andrew Marr Show that he would decide whether to stand as an MP in the coming week. 

    UKIP currently has no MPs after Douglas Carswell quit the party in March.  

    Mr Nuttall unsuccessfully stood for election in the Stoke-on-Trent Central by-election in February, coming second.

    "I will make a decision in the coming week about where to stand, obviously I'll be having conversations with local branches," he said. 

    "Nothing is decided."
