    Sophie Walker, the leader of the Women's Equality Party, is to stand against Tory MP and male rights advocate Philip Davies in the election.

    She said Mr Davies had a "track record of misogyny", including trying to block laws on domestic violence.

    Mr Davies said he welcomed his rival "parachuting herself" into the seat with a "politically correct agenda".

  13. Corbyn refuses to confirm Trident commitmentpublished at 10:00 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

    Mr Corbyn refused to confirm that a commitment to continue backing the renewal of Trident will be in the Labour manifesto.

    He told Andrew Marr the manifesto hadn't been completed yet.

    He went on to say Labour would have a strategic defence review immediately that would look at the nuclear issue and all other aspects of defence, including making sure the armed forces are properly funded.

    Jeremy Corbyn said free movement will end after Brexit because it's an "intrinsic" part of being part of the EU.

    However, he wants to see the EU nationals living in Britain to be given the right to remain "immediately" and British nationals living in the EU should have the same right.
