    The UK will continue to meet its target of spending 0.7% of gross national income on international aid, Theresa May says.

    "Our compassion is not limited to those who carry the same passport," she adds.

    She also dismisses as "absurd" the idea that the UK cannot use its aid budget to help "all those" affected by hurricanes in the Americas and the Carribean under current rules.

    The PM says the government will change the rules if necessary.

    "Shows how good the chancellor's cough sweet is," she jokes.

    As the prime minister attempts to carry on speaking as her voice goes, party members stand do their bit and stand to applaud to give her their encouragement and the chance to clear her throat.

    A fresh glass of water comes on to the stage, and she accepts a sweet or lozenge handed up from the direction of her cabinet team. She comments: "I hope you noticed that... the chancellor giving something away free."

    The governments wants continuing "partnership" with the EU but will "prepare for every eventuality" - a hint that a "no deal" scenario is a possibility.

    She is forced to stop however, as he is escorted from the hall.

    Party members stand and applaud.

    "I was about to talk about somebody I'd like to give a P45 to, and that's Jeremy Corbyn," Mrs May continues. The crowd love it.
