  4. Suggestions of further deadlockpublished at 21:18 British Summer Time 1 April 2019

    Chris Mason
    Political Correspondent

BBC political correspondent Chris Mason said as the counting of the votes is under way, some commentators are now suggesting there might still not be a majority for any of the options.

When MPs voted for eight motions on 27 March, no clear winner emerged, leading the prime minister to bring her deal back to the Commons last Friday.

There was a lot of anger from some supporters of Leave that none of today's motions "add up to Brexit as they see it", he adds.

Ms Powell adds: "We just need to all hold our noses about a number of things we might have concerns about we because we have to break this deadlock before we crash out a week on Thursday with no deal."

  19. Barclay: 'Rehashing of last week's arguments'published at 19:58 British Summer Time 1 April 2019

    Stephen BarclayImage source, EPA

Stephen Barclay, speaking a bit earlier, said many of the arguments being made were already raised in last week's debate when they received little support.

He said this included "in terms of the permanent customs union - where the concern is giving control over our trade policy, in particular over our trade defences, to EU countries, over which we would have no say".

"I think it's questionable why we would want to give MEPs in other countries control over our trade defences," he added.
