  10. Frustration with Brexit uncertainty 'has driven a lot of results'published at 05:04 British Summer Time 3 May 2019

    Marcus Jones MP

Recalling a conversation he had with his own constituents, Tory MP Marcus Jones said he met a pair of strong Brexiteers who "really wanted to leave the EU, they were really disappointed and frustrated that we hadn't left".

The Conservative Party vice chairman added: "But then the conversation switched and actually they turned their fire onto people who had not supported the deal that they understood would have got us out of the EU."

Mr Jones - who originally voted to Remain - previously backed Theresa May's Brexit deal.

He said: "Even in Remain areas, I don't think it's the fact that people are trying to leave the EU that they take exception to.

"I think it's the fact that they see the confusion that's gone on, they see the prevarication that's gone on, and they see that a decision was made and politicians haven't followed it through. There's an even bigger frustration that it's no causing so much uncertainty."
