    Former Commonwealth track cyclist Steven Paulding is the last person to carry the baton Leven.

    Steven represented Wales in the 1986 and 1990 Commonwealth Games and now works for the Scottish Golf Union, which oversees amateur golf in the country.

    They are among the select few to carry the Queen's Baton in Fife this afternoon.

    PE teacher Pat Rollo is still the Scottish record holder for the 100m hurdles, 31 years after she took the title.

    Pat represented Scotland in the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh. She now coaches pupils at Bell Baxter High School, two of whom went on to compete at the games in Delhi in 2010.

    Scottish swimmer Mark Szaranek looked delighted as he carried the baton in Freuchie.

    Mark recently won gold in the Men's 200m at the North District Open Grand Prix in Aberdeen earlier this month.

    The long distance runner is hoping to compete in the 2016 Paralympics. He runs with a special sling following a serious motorbike accident four years ago.

    Keith's story is truly inspirational, in 2008 he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and also told he had prostate cancer too.

    He underwent pioneering treatment in 2012 and now runs marathons, raising money for charity and promoting organ donation.

    Fitness-fanatic Jean was diagnosed with salivary gland cancer in May 2012, but the people who nominated her say "there was no way she was settling into her condition".

    More than two years on and she is a member of two running clubs - notching up a number of 5km and 10km runs in Edinburgh and Glasgow. She has also tackled the Great North Run, raising a lot of money for charity in the process.

    Jean was given some musical accompaniment by a busker at the start of her stint with the baton.

    Seen earlier off the Fife coast, these two intrepid gents took to the waves to get a closer look at the baton as it travelled aboard an RNLI lifeboat.

    The baton relay has stopped at Falkland Palace, a former residence of Scottish monarchy.

    According to the National Trust for Scotland, external, which now owns the property, James IV and James V transformed the original castle into a French Renaissance style royal palace.

    Apparently it was one of Mary, Queen of Scots' favourite places because it reminded her of the châteaux she lived in as a child.

    Stefan Hoggan is the first baton bearer in Falkland. The people who nominated Stefan say he "is an important role model with in the local community."

    The swimmer is the current Scottish record holder for 50m and 100m butterfly and 50m and 100m freestyle (S9).

    He also coaches young disabled swimmers at Carnegie Swimming Club in Dunfermline.
