    Welcome to Glenrothes, where the first people to carry the baton are Brandon Mills and Rodney Dawson.

    Rodney was nominated for his commitment to cycling. He has been the co-ordinator for the Scottish Deaf Mountain Bike Club for a number of years and has been key to encouraging people to take part in the sport.

    Bob is head bowls coach for Scottish Disability Sport. He coached and managed the Scottish men's bowls team at both the Manchester 2002 and Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.

    Thanks to Jackie Mutter who emailed us to say that we had a former Olympian in the relay this morning.

    We missed Ian Mackie, 100m finalist in the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996, taking the baton in Dalgety Bay this morning.

    Jackie wrote: "Lovely to see Ian Mackie former Olympian making an appearance in Dalgety Bay and doesn't the Kingdom of Fife look stunning."

    The relay is now in Kinghorn, where the first baton bearer was Rachael Page.

    Dianne Jamieson emailed about her niece.

    "I would like to say good luck and well done to my niece, Maggie Jamieson, who is carrying the baton in Kinghorn this morning," she wrote.

    "Sadly not all the family can be there to see her on this special day but I'm sure her mum will be looking down on her today and smiling with pride.

    "Her gran Helen, grandad David, sister Louise, nephew Thomas, niece Ellie and I will be cheering her along the route."

    David was a Boy's Brigade leader and co-founded Burntisland Youth Athletics Club. He helped organise Burntisland Highland Games, and was Chieftain for 15 years.

    The baton has topped-up its tan on Aberdour's Silver Sands beach, and is now on the bus to Burntisland.

    Does anyone know how Burntisland got its name? To the best of our knowledge it is not burnt, and looks firmly attached to the rest of mainland Scotland.
