    A proud moment for former Olympian Simon Needham as he carried the baton in Forfar.

    Simon represented Great Britain in archery at the 2000 Olympics as well as the European and World Championships.

    Donna is a active member of the Forfar Road Runners club and spends her free time coaching children in a variety of different running events.

    Her encouragement and enthusiasm for the benefits of sport has seen runners she has coached raise thousands of pounds for charities across the UK.

    She joined Adele Douglas, Geoffrey Bray and Kim Dalgarno in the first group of baton bearers in the town.

    Pierre has devoted a lot of his time working as a volunteer for Scoliosis Association UK. As part of his work for the charity he helps support people who have been diagnosed with the illness, as well as their families.

    He was also instrumental in setting up a ball to help raise both funds and awareness for the charity which is now in it's third year.

    He passed the baton to his daughter Courtney.

    It's easy to see why Alex Mill is regarded as something of a local hero in Arbroath. For over 40 years he has tirelessly worked for his community, spending 30 of those years coaching youngsters in the Forfar Small Bore Rifle Club.

    He has also been heavily involved in fundraising for the local rotary club as well as helping to organise events such as the local marathon.

    The baton relay made a brief stop at Arbroath Abbey as we continue the journey through Angus.

    Jayne Burnett had the honour of holding the baton inside the historic site.

    The Abbey was founded in 1178 and has played an important role in Scottish history.

    With the relay due to arrive in Brechin at about 17:46, local residents have organised a day of celebrations to welcome the baton into the town.

    Starting at 13:00 there is a Commonwealth Knockout with live music from a range of local bands, including Fubar, Peyton Place and Gleadhraich. As well as live music you can expect performances from local dance groups into the evening.

    He is the current World Indoor Singles Bowls champion and took leave from his job in Police Scotland to focus on his quest for medals at Glasgow 2014.
