    Traci was nominated to carry the baton for her work organising the School and Nursery Sports Week at Strathblane Primary School for the past four years.

    Euan carried the baton in Thornhill a short while ago.

    He is a keen sportsman - playing football, badminton and tennis. He teaches children with learning difficulties and this year raised money for a breast cancer charity by running 10km.

    For nearly two months, the Queen's Baton has been visiting communities in the British Isles. Before that, the baton travelled through 63 nations and territories of the Commonwealth on its journey to Glasgow 2014.

    BBC presenter Mark Beaumont spent seven months following the international leg of the journey. He re-lived some of his highlights in this a audio slideshow.

    Kirsty Megahy emailed in to say: "Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all involved with the relay.

    "My three girls and I waited to wave as the baton was driven through our village. Police noticed us, radioed the baton coach whereupon it stopped.

    "The fantastic people brought out the baton and my girls had the chance to see, hold and have photos with it.

    "This was so kind and an amazing gesture."

    Kirsty's three girls are Hattie, aged eight, Millie, seven and five-year-old Poppy. Tayside Police pictured them yesterday with the baton's unscheduled stop in their village.

    The specially trained police officers, in the blue tops, have been guarding the baton throughout the journey in Scotland so far.

    Just over a week ago, they demonstrated their strange warm up technique - a penguin dance.

    Earlier, if you were watching the video stream, you would have heard some brass players who are involved in the Big Noise project.

    Big Noise is an initiative of Sistema Scotland, a charity set up in the "belief that children can gain huge social benefits by playing in a symphony orchestra".

    The first project in Raploch was hailed a major success and one has now been started in Glasgow's Govanhill.

    The group are closely linked with the El Sistema project in Venezuela and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra, with its conductor Gustavo Dudamel.

    You may remember the orchestra at the Proms a few years ago, with its colourful performance of West Side Story.

    After the baton was carried through Stirling and Raploch, it is now the turn of Thornhill to welcome the Queen's Baton. Six baton bearers will have the honour of taking part in the relay in the village.

    A brass group from the Big Noise project welcomed baton bearer Cameron Milne with music from the movie Rocky.

    It wasn't quite the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, but Cameron had a good run.

    Cameron won the European Junior Relay Triathlon Championships in 2011. His sister Natalie Milne will compete for Team Scotland in the triathlon at the Commonwealth Games later this month.

    The baton's journey started today with a photo call at Stirling Castle, where Mary of Guise - the mother of Mary Queen of Scots - posed with the baton with Katriona Bush, the first baton bearer of the day.
