    It's hard to say. Until we know for sure how many cases there have been globally, it's impossible to be certain of the death rate.

    At the moment, after more than 30,000 deaths worldwide, estimates say that around 1% of people infected with the virus die. But that rate could be lower if there are large groups of asymptomatic patients.

    Will there be fewer cases this summer? Can you get the virus twice? There are still dozens of questions left unanswered.

    Social Security and Older People Secretary Shirley-Anne Somerville told Radio Scotland's Good Morning Scotland a variety of different volunteers are being sought to help with the coronavirus crisis.

    The need for extra support for the NHS is "very, important" but she stressed that volunteers should be well and healthy.

    Those wanting to volunteer to support their communities have three options which are signposted from the Ready Scotland, external website:

    • returning NHS workers will be directed to existing voluntary arrangements in NHS Scotland
    • people wishing to offer their support to our public services, including the NHS and local authorities, will be directed to a site co-ordinated by the British Red Cross
    • those looking for opportunities with other charities or community groups in their area will be directed to Volunteer Scotland, external for information

    A new website and phoneline for people across Grampian about how to access support on coronavirus has been launched.

    The new Assistance Hub pulls together links to the latest advice from sources such as local authorities as well as community information.

    It is for anyone in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray, with information for residents and businesses.

    The price of oil has sunk to levels not seen since 2002 as demand for crude collapses amid the coronavirus pandemic.

    Brent crude fell to $23.03 a barrel at one point on Monday morning, its lowest level since November 2002.

    Patients in six hospitals across Scotland are to receive free bedside television for the next three months to combat loneliness during the coronavirus pandemic.

    There are about 3,400 bedside units which can use Hospedia televisions across six Scottish hospitals, which can cost a patient £7.90 per day.

    With restrictions in place for visiting patients in hospital, the Scottish government has agreed a package with broadcast provider Hospedia to give free TV to all in-patients for the next three months.

    The hospitals covered by Hospedia include Monklands in Airdrie, Raigmore in Inverness, University Hospital Ayr, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and Crosshouse in Kilmarnock.

    All other hospitals in Scotland will continue to have existing TV services provided by the local health board free of charge.

    Scotrail operations director David Simpson says that passenger demand has dropped by 90% during the day since the lockdown measures came into place.

    Mr Simpson told BBC Radio's Good Morning Scotland that they had spoken to hospitals about providing services that match shift patterns of NHS workers.

    He said there were still enough seats available for people to observe social distancing. The company is also cleaning carriages much more frequently.

    Ms Somerville said she was saddened and disappointed that the UK government was planning to go ahead with post-Brexit talks with the EU.

    The talks are due to go ahead later on Monday over video link.

    She told BBC Scotland that the Scottish government's focus was "absolutely on the fight against coronavirus", with every Scottish minister spending their time on it.

    "I hope they do reflect and change their mind on that because certainly our response up here to this health crisis has been to solely focus on that - and I think the UK government should do the same," she said.

    Responding to concerns that volunteers could put themselves at risk or end up spreading the virus, Ms Somerville told BBC Scotland that meausures were in place to prevent that.

    She said any volunteers should not be in one of the vulnerable groups, should maintain social distancing and ensure good handwashing.

    "Public health messages trump everything," she said.

    "If you can volunteer safely while following all those public health messages then please do so."

    Police officers issued 25 fixed penalty notices to people not complying with social distancing rules over the weekend, Police Scotland have said.

    The notices were given after police had to break up house parties and prevent people from gathering outside.

    Some businesses were also issued with notices and told to close.

    But Deputy Chief Constable Malcolm Graham said it was clear the "vast majority of people" across Scotland were complying with the measure and staying at home.

    "I think that's strong evidence of how theese extraordinary powers have had an impact in such a short space of time," he told BBC Radio Scotland.
