Sepa's Scottish Flood Forecast, external says that the flood risk will improve on Saturday. The current Red warning is expected to be downgraded to Yellow in Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City, Dundee and Angus, Tayside.

However, this carries its own risks from the residual impact of Friday's weather. Sepa says this is:

    • Flooding affecting parts of communities.
    • Danger to life and damage to buildings.
    • Disruption to infrastructure.

The Met Office Amber weather warning for heavy rain and floods will be lifted at 21:00. It was initially in place until 15:00 this afternoon, before being extended.

However, disruption from the flooding is expected to continue into Saturday before any clean up can begin.

The Met Office says there should be a "brief respite" from the winds and rain for a time, but another front will move in from the west later in the day, bringing more wet and windy weather.
