Ivan McKee has left the Scottish government.

The business minister was offered a new job that he considered a step down.

He was initially campaign manager for Kate Forbes but stepped back from that role after early controversies in her campaign.

This is another sign that this Humza Yousaf reshuffle will be more change than continuity.

    There will be:

    • further departures from government
    • promotions from the backbenches to ministers, ministers to cabinet
    • some changing jobs within government
    • at least one change to the structure of government

My top tips for promotion are Neil Gray, Mairi McAllan and Jenny Gilruth.
