    Scottish Lib Dem MSP Alex Cole-Hamilton asks for what reason more than a quarter of training places in GP surgeries were not filled at the end of the 2016 recruitment round.

    The first minister says the recruitment round is ongoing and at this interim stage the NHS have recruited 4% more than in the total process last year.

    Ms Sturgeon says the current fill rate for GPs is 92%

    Mr Cole-Hamilton says 90 GPs have been lost to the profession in the last year.

    He calls for qualified, full-time mental health practitioners in every surgery in Scotland.

    The first minister says the government is working with GPs and has plans to put link workers in place in practices.

    Ms Smith says railway passengers will be disappointed that there will be no working group.

    The first minister says the transport minister will engage with the Labour MSP and other members and the union over safety on our trains.

    Labour MSP Jackie Baillie says inward investment is down and compared to the rest of the UK we are doing worse.

    Ms Baillie asks what the first minister will do to address the issue.

    The first minister says Ms Baillie also travelled with the Tories saying voting No in the independence referendum would secure EU membership.

    She details investment hubs and other measures to tackle inward investment.

    Scotland's share of inward investment projects has fallen, according to the latest figures from the new UK Department for International Trade.

    There were 108 inward investment projects counted in the 2015-16 financial year.

    In the previous two years, there were 122 and 119.

    The number of jobs created was well below a proportionate share of the British jobs, at 4,200.

    The British numbers had another strong showing in both projects and jobs supported.

    Foreign investment in the UK reached more than 2,200 projects, up 11%.

    Scottish Conservative MSP Gordon Lindhurst asks what measures the government is taking to reverse the reported decline in inward investment, including as a share of the UK total.

    The first minister says the government is looking in detail at the latest DIT figures showing a small decrease in inward investment and points to a different set of figures from Ernst and Young which paint a better picture.

    Mr Lindhurst says the cause is her threat of a further independence referendum "hanging like a dark cloud" over Scotland.

    Ms Sturgeon says the only uncertainty hanging over Scotland at that point was the EU referendum.

    She says it is the Tories who have carried out a "reckless gamble".

    An international panel set up to help ministers improve education in Scotland met for the first time last week.

    The Scottish government has recruited specialists from across the world to be part of its International Council of Education Advisors. 

    First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Deputy First Minister John Swinney were involved in the discussions. 

    The panel includes members from Australia, the US, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Malaysia and the UK. It was set up by Ms Sturgeon after May's Scottish Parliament elections.

    SNP MSP Jenny Gilruth asks whether the government will provide an update following the first meeting of the International Council of Education Advisers.

    Ms Sturgeon says the first meeting was very helpful.

    Ms Gilruth says head teachers and local authorities must work collaboratively to try and close the attainment gap.

    The first minister agrees. 

    She goes on to stress the importance of supporting teachers to develop.

    SNP MSP James Dornan raises concerns about remarks made by Ruth Davidson's Holyrood press office in relation to former SNP MSP Christian Allard.

    Mr Dornan calls for a public apology without delay.

    Ms Sturgeon says the remarks suggested an EU citizen should not be able to talk about a constituency they live in.

    If another day passes without Ruth Davidson apologising then the people of Scotland can question the character of the Tories, the first minister says.

    Ms Sturgeon says she was very disappointed that the debate in the House of Commons went against their views.

    The first minister says: "We need to be firm in saying that companies should pay the tax they are due."

    Mr Harvie says he hopes every opportunity will be taken to use devolved responsibilities where they can to tackle tax avoidance.

    MP Richard Arkless has voiced frustration in the House of Commons over one debtor he said had forced Penman Engineering into administration.

    The company, which makes armoured vehicles at a site near Dumfries, made the move last week.

    Mr Arkless said the debtor - who he was not allowed to name - had received "huge public sector contracts".

    He asked for export support for Penman but also how other businesses could be made to pay their bills on time.

    The Dumfries and Galloway MP raised the issue during Prime Minister's Questions.

    He said the firm had been put in an "impossible position".
