Why are the Scottish Tories supporting the deal asks Russellpublished at 18:01 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2019
Mr Russell wonders why are the Scottish Conservatives supporting the UK government in its Brexit efforts.
He suggests it is because of the three things the party are trying to avoid:
- Recognition they are powerless
- The difference between governance since devolution, which is why their MSPs aspiring to be MPs
- Fear, as many of them know the deal is bad
The Brexit secretary says a no deal is unacceptable, as is the prime minister's deal.
He insists the time has come to say to the people of this country: "What do you want? Do you really want to continue with this farce and nonsense?"
If this debate does nothing else, it will send a message that the Scottish Conservatives are not representing Scotland Mr Russell concludes.
