    Plans for Peebles's new 3G pitch go on display in the town this Friday.

    Three potential sites are being considered.

    Originally, the preferred location for a 3G pitch was on the playing fields at Craigerne Lane, beside Peebles High School.

    But thanks to feedback from a public exhibition in February, the council is now proposing three possible sites: two in the Craigerne Lane area, one in nearby Victoria Park.

    Another exhibition is being held in the High School on Friday between 3pm and 7pm.

    Up to 7,500 people are expected for this year's Eden Music Festival in Dumfriesshire.

    The four-day event which opens tomorrow features some 250 acts including headliners Miss Dynamite and Grand Master Flash.

    Set in the Raehills Meadows near Beattock, the stages and other attractions have been crafted out of timber from trees felled on the estate.

    Two Borders projects are to receive cash from the Landfill Communities Fund.

    Rock UK will get just under £29,000 to help pay for a £90,000 bike skills and pump track near Newcastleton.

    And, up the Ettrick Valley, £16,000 has been awarded to Kirkhope Parish Hall for an extension. Both grants were agreed by members of the Scottish Borders Council executive.

    However, a few patchy clouds will form in the afternoon over high ground. It will feel warm in the sunshine with the temperature climbing up to around 20 Celsius in Kelso.

    It will be somewhat cooler along the east coast with light onshore breezes developing.

    The plans would see the redevelopment of four secondary schools, the delivery of a "learning hub", provision of accommodation for children with additional needs and property issues addressed at four primary schools.

    The proposals are on show at:

    • Tuesday 16 June - St Joseph's College

    Family and police are growing concerned for the welfare of 23-year-old Paula Rebecca Devlin who has gone missing from New Row in Wanlockhead.

    She hasn't been seen since May.

    She is described as of slim build, about 5ft 5in tall with long, jet black, dyed hair and wears dark fake tan and make up.

    PC Lisa Ritchie and her colleague PC Ryan Campbell spotted the swan on a road in Tongland near Kirkcudbright.

    The Bank of Scotland's new happiness index attempts to quantify how happy people are in the communities in which they live.

    Three-quarters of Scotland's top-flight clubs have told BBC Scotland they would consider a move to summer football.

    A survey of all 42 senior clubs found 27 would be in favour of examining the possibility, including nine from the 12-team Premiership.
