  16. Your views: St Abbs lifeboatpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 8 September 2015

Pam Robson emails: There is not sufficient cover from Eyemouth, for the simple reason the further away from any emergency incident around the cliffs of St Abbs and St Abbs head, the less time there is to save lives.

Minutes count in such circumstances and can mean life or death. As good as the crew are, the Eyemouth lifeboat cannot possibly reach the area as quickly as the St Abbs crew could.

This particular area is constantly and continually visited by divers, so YES, lives will be put at risk. It's inevitable.

The RNLI decision makers should hang their heads in shame at what they have done today, and the crew of the St Abbs Lifeboat should stand tall, because they are the front line fighters, who have saved lives by putting their lives on the line every time there is a call out.
