Image source, Phil McMenemyNHS Borders chief executive Jane Davidson has dismissed reports that the plans for a replacement Roxburgh Street Surgery in Galashiels have been scrapped.
"The replacement of Roxburgh Street Surgery is linked to the SAS ambulance station which moved from the Roxburgh Street site in 2014 to a new site built at the Borders General Hospital," she said.
"There is a great deal of anticipation surrounding this project as it will impact over 3,300 patients in the Galashiels area.
"Basing timescales on the current planning assumptions, construction is planned to begin in May 2016."
She said a full update would be provided at the NHS Borders board meeting on 1 October.
