    The time Oscar Pistorius has already served will not count against his new sentence, a BBC producer in South Africa says.

    That suggests the former athlete must serve a minimum of three years, starting from today, before he is eligible for parole. 

    He will be transferred to Khosi Mampuru prison in Pretoria.
