    St George's Esplanade has reopened following a collision in St Peter Port.

    The road was closed following the crash between a motorcyclist and a car, but is now open to traffic in both directions.

    Guernsey Police is warning people to behave themselves in the run-up to Halloween and say anyone seen in a clown outfit behaving inappropriately will be charged with a public order offence.

    The message comes after a spate of incidents in America and the UK where people dressed as clowns have been scaring others.

    Now local traders say they've stopped selling certain clown masks or stock adult clown clothing as they don't want to encourage people.

    I don't think any passengers are going to turn down an offer like that, but one Guernsey deputy says it needs to do just that, so that the States-owned airline can "start filling planes".

    Deputy David de Lisle says the only way for the airline to start breaking even, is to drop prices and reach capacity.

    Residents of Old St John's Road in St Helier are calling for the parish and police to take action to force motorists to slow down.

    The road has a 20 mph speed limit which, they say, is being ignored.

    It connects Cheapside to St John's Road, and is often used by traffic to bypass town.

    The States has been asked to make a final decision on the 11-plus, as the Education Committee published a new policy letter.

    Guernsey's last crop of deputies made the decision in March, just before the general election, to scrap selection, but now the President of Education, Deputy Paul Le Pelley, says he's delivering on a promise to let the new assembly decide.

    His board is split, with two members in favour of selection and three against. The Committee wants the States to decide next month.
