Police in Jersey are investigating the death of a woman in St Helier.

A former nursing home in Jersey will be renovated so junior doctors can live there.
Politicians have agreed to use the Limes building in St Helier for hospital staff, until it is turned into housing.
Now politicians have decided to refurbish the building to allow junior doctors to live there.
The Health Minister, Senator Andrew Green, said the current building where many junior doctors stay may be demolished to make room for a new facility for outpatients.

Aurigny is waiting on a special permit for the final flight of trislander G-RLON as it is being permanently loaned to Solent Sky Museum.
The plane was retired from service in February and no longer has an operating licence.
If the permit comes through the flight to Lee-On-Solent airfield could take place this week.

Jersey have made a strong start to the European Team Squash Championships, which are being held in the island this week.
The tournament involves 15 countries and Jersey's men's team started with a 4-0 win over Lithuania earlier today.
Their women's side were 3-0 victors against Gibraltar, while Guernsey men lost 3-1 to Slovakia on their debut in the event.
The competition comes to an end on Friday.

A woman whose body has been found in Jersey and a man arrested on suspicion of murder were known to each other, police say.
The body of the middle-aged woman was found in a property in Victoria Street, St Helier, this morning. A 58-year-old man was arrested at 14:50 on suspicion of murder, Supt Stewart Gull, of Jersey Police, said.
Supt Gull added: "He remains in custody at police headquarters and will be interviewed in due course."
A UK Home Office pathologist is due to travel to the island later this week to carry out a post-mortem examination.
Specialist family liaison officers have been appointed to support the dead woman's family.

Money given by the States in overseas aid has helped children return to education, and provided people with accessible drinking water, according to Jersey Overseas Aid.
The States funded aid agency said Jersey's donations to UNICEF of £475,000 have "assisted more than 110,000 children return to formal education in Lebanon".
The money also provided "safe water for drinking and domestic use for almost 100,000 people", many of whom live in "crowded makeshift camps".

800 students completed the survey in January covering issues such as healthy eating, activity levels, mental health and well-being.
Education Services Lifelong Learning Manager, Alun Williams said: "Most young people report that they are happy with their lives, enjoy school, have colleagues with whom they can share problems and are aware that that they are in control of their health.
"However they are not immune from the pressures that all young people face.
"In particular, there is a significant number who report that they are unhappy and find life stressful."

The chief secretary of Guernsey's Committee for Employment and Social Security, is to stand in as acting chief secretary to the Committee for Education, Sport and Culture on a temporary basis.
It follows a series of other high ranking changes in the civil service.
Malcolm Nutley, who is currently chief secretary to Employment & Social Security, will take on the lead officer role at education until a permanent chief secretary is appointed.
The head of operations at Employment and Social Security, Ed Ashton, will step in behind him.
Paul Whitfield, States of Guernsey chief executive, said the move will mean both committee's continue to receive support from senior civil servants.
He said filling the position full time won't be a rushed decision as finding the right person is the priority.

A husband and wife who subjected a disabled woman to horrific sexual assaults while holding her as a virtual prisoner in Northern Ireland have been jailed.
Keith, 61, from Guernsey, and Caroline Baker, 56, kept their victim in a squalid room in Craigavon without a carpet, a light bulb, bedclothes or curtains, for eight years.
Speaking to BBC News NI, Mandy Highfield, who alerted police to the case, described what life was like inside the house.

Funding from Jersey to Unicef has "helped transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable children in the world" according to Deputy Carolyn Labey.
In October 2016, Jersey granted £475,000 to UNICEF for projects focused on needy children in Lebanon.

A 58-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the discovery of the body of a middle-aged woman in St Helier this morning.
Jersey police said he was in custody and would be interviewed in due course.

There are plans to pay for Jersey's new hospital with the States strategic reserve instead of borrowing money.
Scrutiny has proposed a change to plans on how to pay for the new hospital.
It says that borrowing at a time of low interest rates is not unreasonable, but this has to be balanced with the reality that we are living in a very unstable economic period.

Proposals to form a new grant-funded sport organisation in Jersey has had "consistent support from Jersey's sporting community", said the chairman of Jersey Sport's shadow board Constable Steve Pallett.
The shadow board submitted a report in September last year, recommending the formation of the body on the same terms as other grant funded schemes such as Visit Jersey and Jersey Finance.
The States of Jersey has said the motion will be discussed in May.

The second cruise ship of the season has anchored off St Peter Port today.
The Astoria arrived five days early due to weather conditions off Scotland.
It is the second oldest passenger ship that is still in active service.
The ship has 560 passengers on board and has come from Amsterdam.
