The Jersey Met Office has warned of "absolute drought" conditions after recording just 4mm of rainfall.
The average April would expect 56.2mm, they said.
For context, they added "the driest April on record was in 2011 when just 0.2mm was recorded. The wettest April on record was in 1998 with 162.4mm".
As it stands if there is no rainfall by Thursday morning Jersey will be in an "absolute drought", but significant rainfall over the next 24 hours would classify as a "dry spell".

The number of journeys made by people on buses in Guernsey during the first three months of 2017 rose to 327,723, up more than 30,000 on the previous year, according to States figures.
They added that this was the highest first quarter result since 2010 when the scheduled bus service carried a total of 298,056 passengers.
The most significant increase was student passengers, which was attributed to the introduction of student travel cards.

Guernsey Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was damaged by another vehicle in a car park.
It is believed to have happened between 14:30 and 15:30 on 16 April.

Jersey's Bailiff has described a former deputy, who has died, as a valuable representative of the Jersey people.
Harry Baudains died at the weekend at the age of 83.
He served as a St Clement Deputy between 1986 and 2002.
Bailiff William Bailhache described him as a popular representative for islanders, who served on various committees and groups.

More wildflowers have been planted on grassland between Fermain Road and Val des Terres in Guernsey to bloom in the summer.
A spokeswoman from Agriculture, Countryside and Land Management Services said it had made the change to help pollinating insects: bumble bees, butterflies, hoverflies and moths.

On the return of the ice rink a spokesman said it "will form an integral part of a Festive Event planned for the Fort this year".
The rink will be open from 7 December 2017 until 14 January 2018.

Trading Standards in Jersey has issued a warning about a batch of Kit-Kat chocolate snacks following a UK wide recall.
Nestle recalled the product because a batch of its original milk chocolate bites were mis-packed with peanut butter bites.
The States of Jersey Trading Standards said: "The product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to nuts and/or peanuts."
In a statement Nestle UK said they were making the recall as a "precaution", and although packaging was clearly labelled as "may contain peanuts and nuts", it did present a risk.

A number of States reviews have had a stalling effect on Guernsey's construction sector, according to a local industry spokesperson.
Mark Palfrey, from the Guernsey Building Trades Employers Association, believes Guernsey's builders are seeing less work than their counterparts in the UK and Jersey, partly as a result of this uncertainty.
Mr Palfrey said he hopes the upcoming construction industry forum will help the industry decide on the "sensible way forward".

Jersey's new dean says the islands' three years under the Diocese of Canterbury has allowed churchgoers to think about their relationship with the UK Church.
The Reverend Mike Keirle, the new leader of Jersey's Anglican church, said Canterbury's generous care has helped islanders look to the future.
The Channel Islands moved temporarily from Winchester to Canterbury when relations broke down when the then Dean Bob Key was suspended over a compliant from a parishioner.

A 15-year-old St John Ambulance cadet from Jersey has won a national award for his service with the charity.
Tom Hughes was put up for the Diana award by teachers at Haute Vallée School.
A spokesperson from the charity said: "The Diana Award is given out in Diana, Princess of Wales’ name to young role models who are selflessly transforming the lives of others."
"The award is in recognition of young people going above and beyond their daily lives to create and sustain positive change."
Mr Hughes will attend a ceremony in July in the presence of a member of the Royal family.

Jersey's chief minister and deputy chief minister have confirmed they are meeting members of the RNLI St Helier lifeboat crew today.
The crew resigned earlier this month after Coxwain Andy Hibbs was sacked.
The RNLI said he was asked to step down due to a "serious breach" of the charity's code of conduct.
A public petition to reinstate Mr Hibbs has collected around 4,500 signatures.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May has announced plans to call a snap general election on 8 June.
She said Britain needed certainty, stability and strong leadership following the EU referendum.
Explaining the decision, Mrs May said: "The country is coming together but Westminster is not."
Opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn said his Labour Party wanted the election, calling it a chance to get a government that puts "the majority first".

The tribunal that reviews decisions made by the department that sets the rates of tax based on property size is seeking new lay members, the States of Guernsey has said.
The panel currently has six members, with one or potentially two vacancies.
Three sit on each appeal, with one appointed to chair the appeal.
Members would be required to work in advance of hearings by reading the papers provided, asking questions during the hearing, and take an active part in the deliberations and decision-making.
