We're breaking for lunch after a couple of tense exchanges between the prosecutor and Eric Trump.

Andrew Amer continued to grill Eric on his knowledge of his father's financial statement.

Raising his voice, Eric responds: "We’re a major organisation. I’m fairly certain that we have financial statements”.

Just before the break, Amer can get a clear answer from Eric - that he understood his father had an annual financial statement in 2013 and that he was asked to assist with it.

Still, Eric claims: "I had no involvement, nor did I ever work on my father's statement of financial condition".

Prosecutors have been attempting to tie Eric to his father’s annual financial statements.

At issue is the Trump Seven Springs estate in Westchester, New York.

Prosecutors are sharing a 2013 email Trump Organization controller Jeff McConney sent to Eric Trump explaining that he was working on Donald Trump Sr’s annual financial statements.

McConney wanted clarity on the value of the Seven Springs property.

After previously denying he had anything to do with his father's statement of financial condition, Eric acknowledges that he was asked for assistance with a spreadsheet that contains previous years’ valuation of the property.

But, he adds: “It seems like the values have already been established… from the year before.”

“This pre-dated me,” he says. “He’s updating numbers that were already there pre my involvement.”

Prosecutors' interactions with Eric Trump have so far proved more tense than with Donald Trump Jr.

Eric is more cautious in his answers, declining to answer yes or no on questions that prosecutors seem to view as obvious.

Several times, Andrew Amer of the attorney general's office tells Eric Trump: "That did not answer my question".

On at least one occasion, Judge Engoron agrees.

The lack of clarity from Eric means Amer is asking the same questions in several different ways, making for a potentially long afternoon in court.

Throughout his testimony, Trump Jr projected confidence and wasn't afraid to make jokes with the judge or legal teams.

However, he did grow more serious under questioning from the attorney general today.

Eric Trump is projecting a far more subdued air, quietly and directly answering questions without any humorous flourishes.

He then spoke to media in front of the New York City courthouse steps.

Asked if he was going to stay and listen to his brother Eric, he said: "I don't feel I need to be a part of, you know, the continued circus - it's gonna keep going."

"This is not my first rodeo at this point."

He also gave some thoughts on his own testimony, where he repeatedly told the court he trusted his accountants.

"You pay experts, millions of dollars to be experts, you sign off on what they give you," he said.

Andrew Amer with the attorney general's office is trying to establish Eric Trump and his father's place in the Trump Organization's hierarchy.

Eric confirms that he was running the day-to-day operations of the Trump Organization along with his brother and, for a time, the now convicted CFO Allen Weisselberg.

Amer asks him if it's fair to view the Trump Organization hierarchy as a pyramid that had your father at the top?

    Eric confirms it is.

At one point, Amer asks that if his father directed him to take a course of action, would he?

Eric tries to dodge by saying "I wouldn't sell Mar-a-Lago without asking my father".

But the prosecutor pushes him to answer.

“If my father directed me to take an action post him leaving the company, he's the owner of the company, yes I follow his (directions)," he said.

Ivanka's lawyer Bennet Moskowitz filed an appeal on Wednesday in an attempt to stop her from testifying next week.

The appeal asked an appellate court to decide if Judge Engoron has jurisdiction to order her to testify, since she has not lived or worked in New York since 2017.

It also asks whether the trial subpoenas were properly served.

Unlike her brothers Eric and Donald Jr, Ivanka is not a co-defendant in this civil fraud case.

Trump's eldest son has continued to distance himself from the financial documents, arguing the company's accounting team was responsible.

"They have as much, if not more information and details than I ever would have had," he says.

Asked whether he ever took any steps to ensure that the information he was signing off on was accurate, Trump Jr says "I don't recall".

Faherty is now presenting Donald Trump Jr with emails that show him and other top Trump Organization figures being alerted to Forbes' fact-checking inquiries.

He said: "I don’t know that I would spend hundreds of questions worth of time on answering Forbes Magazine”.
