Danny Dyer says in new book he 'will always do drugs'

Actor Danny Dyer has boasted he will probably always take drugs, as long as it doesn't affect his career or family life.

The comments are made by the dad-of-two in his new autobiography, Straight Up.

The 33-year-old talks honestly about his drug taking in the book.

He said: "I've always taken drugs and I probably always will, but there's a difference between having the odd crafty bump as a reward for a job well done and letting it rule your life."

It's not like I'm a Blue Peter presenter is it?"

The Londoner is famous for playing villains and cockney wide boys in films. He made his name in Human Traffic but more recently has had success in Adulthood and E4 TV series Skins.

In his book he said: "It (drugs) can have a terrible effect on people, and other people can deal with it and get on with their lives and never lose a job and bring up their children, and be fine with it. I think everything in moderation."

Magazine 'joke'

Danny Dyer was criticised earlier this year after his advice column in Zoo magazine suggested a reader should scar his girlfriend for dumping him.

He refers to that in the book, calling it a "tasteless joke".

He admits he did make the comment to the journalist who wrote the advice on his behalf but never thought it would be printed.

"I said to the journalist, 'Maybe he should cut her face so no one would want her'.

"Why did I say that? Because it's a ridiculous thing to say. It was a rubbish tasteless joke.

"Even as it came out of my mouth I wasn't proud of it. I was more embarrassed than anything.

"But I never thought for a second that [the Zoo journalist] would stick it in the magazine."
