The new album by Arctic Monkeys, Suck It And See, has been censored in America because the title is "too rude".

Some supermarket chains say they will only sell the album with a sticker covering the offending words.

Frontman Alex Turner told Xfm: "They think it is rude, disrespectful and they're putting a sticker over it in America in certain stores, big ones."

The singer admitted the title had "not travelled very well".

He also said the band had given the new songs a good practice during their gigs before heading to the studio.

It's a technique used to great effect on their debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not.

"The first one obviously was done pretty much like that," said Turner. "We'd been playing it around before we recorded it. That was something we wanted to try and do again."

Suck It And See is released on 6 June but is already available to stream on the band's website.

Next up for the Arctics are two big home town gigs at Sheffield's Don Valley Bowl on 10 and 11 of this month.

The four-piece then have a busy summer of festival appearances including T in the Park, V Festival and Benicassim in Spain.

They opened Radio 1's Big Weekend in Carlisle last month.
