Jessie J has been forced to pull out of a number of gigs supporting Katy Perry on her tour of north America, as she continues to recover from a bone transplant.

The Essex singer was due to join Perry for five dates in Hartford, New York, Las Vegas, Oakland and Los Angeles in November.

Ellie Goulding will now fill in as support on the dates.

Jessie J wrote on Twitter: "My foot is just not healing as well as I hoped."

Tour upset

She continued: "Having a cry about having to pull out of the Katy Perry tour. I am as upset as my #heartbeats (sic) believe me."

Earlier this month Jessie J told Newsbeat that the ankle injury which has seen her cancel appearances this summer was "worse than people thought".

She said she's been going against doctors' advice by performing at some events like Glastonbury and V Festival.

The Essex singer recently had a bone transplant following surgery to have her left ankle reconstructed.

"None of my ankle bone is now mine," she said. "I've now had someone else's put in."

Jessie J is due to tour the UK next month starting in Birmingham on 17 October.
