Florence & The Machine announce UK tour for March 2012

Florence & The Machine have announced a nine-date UK tour starting next March.

The band, fronted by Florence Welch, will start in Bournemouth on 4 March.

They will also play two shows at Alexandra Palace in north London as well as performances in Cardiff, Nottingham, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and Newcastle.

The Horrors will support the band while Spector will be opening on all dates except 9 March in London, where Theme Park will be appearing.

It will be Florence & The Machine's first major tour since May 2010.

Tickets go on general sale at 9am on Friday 25 November and will cost £29.50 for all shows.

The group's second album, Ceremonials, was released last month and went straight to the top of the official album chart in the UK.

They were nominated for the best newcomer Grammy Award this year but lost out to US jazz artist Esperanza Spalding.
