Nas is added to Radio 1's Hackney Weekend line-up

Nas is the latest artist to be added to the line-up for Radio 1's Hackney Weekend taking place this summer.

The news was revealed by Ace on his BBC Radio 1Xtra show.

The US rapper will be headlining the 1Xtra stage on Sunday 24 June.

Jay-Z and Rihanna are headlining the main stage at the event, which is part of the London 2012 Festival, external, with other acts taking part including Kasabian, will.i.am, Florence And The Machine, Jack White, Jessie J and Leona Lewis.

As well as Nas, Sean Paul, Tinchy Stryder, Flo Rida, Devlin and Azealia Banks will also perform on the BBC 1Xtra stage.

Tickets to Radio 1's Hackney Weekend are free but registration is now closed.

The majority have been allocated to people living in Hackney and the surrounding boroughs in London.

Other acts performing include Ed Sheeran, Swedish House Mafia, Emeli Sande, Calvin Harris, Nero, David Guetta, Lostprohpets, The Ting Tings, Dappy, Chase & Status, Professor Green, Michael Kiwanuka, Labrinth, Tinie Tempah, Rita Ora, Santigold, Mindless Behavior and Plan B.

One hundred thousand tickets are available across the weekend, which takes place on Hackney Marshes.

It will feature more than 100 UK and international artists performing on six BBC stages including the Radio 1 main stage, Radio 1Xtra stage, dance stage, In New Music We Trust stage and the BBC Introducing stage.

BBC Three will screen the event.
