Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expecting a girl.

The news was revealed on Sunday night's episode of the E! reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

"I'm so excited we're having a girl," the 32-year-old said. "Who doesn't want a girl? They're the best and I know that's really what Kanye has always wanted. He wanted a little girl."

The couple hadn't revealed the sex of their baby before Sunday night's show aired.

Kim Kardashian had previously said that they were buying all-white clothes for the baby so people wouldn't guess its gender.

In Sunday night's Keeping Up With the Kardashians episode, Kim Kardashian was accompanied by sisters Kourtney and Khloe and their mother Kris Jenner to a doctor's office.

'Amazing thing'

Kanye West revealed that the couple were expecting their first child at a concert in December.

He told a crowd of more than 5,000 people in Atlantic City by singing: "Now you having my baby."

Kanye West also told people at the gig to congratulate his "baby mom" and that this was the "most amazing thing".

The couple started dating last March after she split from her husband in 2011, the basketball payer Kris Humphries after 72 days.

Kanye West's sixth studio album Yeezus is out on 17 June.
