Diddy has been named the highest-earning hip hop star by Forbes, taking home an estimated $50 million (£31 million) in the last year.
They say this is thanks mostly to the success of his vodka brand but say his record label and clothing line have also contributed.
Jay Z is second, after earning $43m (£27m) from touring, alcohol ranges and his Roc Nation record label.
Completing the top three is Dr Dre who made $40m (£25m).
Nicki Minaj, in fourth place, is the only female musician to have made the top 20 list.
Forbes say the 30-year-old earned $29m (£18m).
In addition to music sales and touring she also endorsed a number of products and was on the judging panel of the US talent show American Idol.
Other artists in the top 10 include Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa and Lil Wayne.
Snoop Lion and Eminem tied for 12th place both taking home $10m (£6.2m), while Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Pharrell Williams and Kendrick Lemar were in joint 14th position with $9m (£5.6m).
Some of the near misses included Nas, Timbaland, Akon, 2 Chainz, J. Cole and A$AP Rocky.
To compile its list, Forbes estimated the entertainment-related income of celebrities between June 2012 and June 2013 by talking to agents, managers, producers and executives.
