Biffy Clyro and Calvin Harris to headline T in The Park

It will be the first time Biffy Clyro have ever headlined the festival.

Biffy Clyro and Calvin Harris join Arctic Monkeys as headliners at this year's T in The Park festival.

It's been 13 years since a Scottish act has closed the main stage on any night at Balado in Kinross-shire.

It will be Biffy Clyro's tenth appearance at the festival, the most any artists has ever played there.

"Genuinely T in the Park has made our lives in more ways than just our experiences," frontman Simon Neil said.

"We wouldn't be here doing this just now if it wasn't for playing T in the Park.

"To headline it finally is amazing - it just feels poetic to do it our 10th time."

Calvin Harris is a regular at T In The Park.

Paolo Nutini had already been announced for the festival, but he's now been joined by a whole host of other artists who will perform over the weekend of 11 - 13 July.

Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Chvrches and You Me At Six will all play on the Friday.

"Playing in Scotland is always exciting for us," You Me At Six's lead singer, Josh Franceschi said.

"They have some of the best crowds we have seen anywhere in the world, I know a lot of other bands feel the same."

The 1975 will return to T in The Park on the Saturday alongside John Newman and a very excited Nina Nesbitt:

"T in the Park is my favourite festival to play cause it's SCOTTTTTTTTTISH," the singer songwriter said.

Disclosure will be playing the Sunday night at T In The Park.

Sunday night headliners Arctic Monkeys will close a day of music from Jake Bugg, London Grammar, Imagine Dragons and Disclosure.

Others to play across the weekend include Haim, Katy B, Pharrell Williams, Tame Impala, Julio Bashmore, Ben Howard and Twin Atlantic.

Last year T in The Park celebrated its 20th anniversary with The Killers, Rihanna and Mumford & Sons topping the bill.

Tickets for this year's festival go on sale this Friday 28 February.
