Bryan Cranston is to write a book about his life and the experience of working on TV series Breaking Bad.

The 58-year-old said he will "reveal the secrets and lies" of the show.

The Emmy award-winning actor, known for his role as Walter White in the hit US series, has a deal for what is described by the publishing company as a "deeply candid memoir".

Publishers Scribner announced in a statement the book will be out in 2015 but has yet to get a title.

Cranston's character in Breaking Bad was a chemistry teacher, who turned to producing crystal meth to pay for his cancer treatment.

A statement from the actor reads: "Walter White taught me a lot - some of it useful, some of it dangerous.

"With this book, I want to tell the stories of my life and reveal the secrets and lies that I lived with for six years shooting Breaking Bad," he added.
