Lily Allen has tweeted that she is "exhausted by the nastiness" after she was named as a replacement for Two Door Cinema Club as this Friday's Latitude Festival headliner.
The band from County Down were forced to pull out of their first UK headline slot due to illness.
The singer wrote: "I understand that you're disappointed but I don't think that warrants abuse.
"They asked, I accepted, I will give it my all, + hope you enjoy."
"If you're going to be rude about my replacing @TDCinemaClub on here, can you just un @ me please ? I'm so exhausted by the nastiness."
Two Door Cinema Club frontman Alex Trimble collapsed at Seattle airport on the way to London and is now in hospital with a chronic stomach complaint.
"We are devastated to have to cancel shows that we were so looking forward to," they said in a statement.
"We can only apologise and hope for your understanding at this time. Love TDCC x."
The trio have also cancelled their show at Bournemouth Academy on Thursday night as well as a show in Australia.
They thanked Lily Allen for filling in at late notice on Twitter adding "we know you'll smash it".
Fresh from her Radio 1 Live Lounge appearance, Lily Allen will make her debut at Latitude Festival.
"So sorry to hear about Alex from Two Door Cinema Club," she said in a statement about her set at Henham Park in Suffolk.
"However I am more than happy to step in.
"I've never been to Latitude but I hear it's fabulous and I can't wait to get my heels on for some serious dancing action on Friday evening - so, so excited."
