Harry Southern: Our ship played music to deceive enemies
Harry Southern decided to join the Navy as his brothers had joined the RAF and Army. He was initially on a minesweeper, then spent some time on HMS Belfast and ended up in the Tropics.
He later settled in Birmingham and now lives in a Royal Star and Garter Home in Solihull where he remembers the war with a good deal of humour.
