Boat carrying football fans gets stuck under Hammersmith Bridge in London

Footage shows the moment a boat crashed into a bridge in London as it was trying to pass underneath it.

The small vessel was taking West Ham fans to their match against Fulham when it struck Hammersmith Bridge, a suspension bridge crossing the River Thames.

The Port of London Authority, which is investigating the incident, said there were no reports of injuries. The vessel, MV Emerald of London, only suffered some minor damage.

Hammersmith Bridge remains closed to motor traffic after it was fully closed in 2020 following the identification of micro-fractures in the 136-year-old structure, pedestrians are still allowed to use the bridge.
