Devon and Cornwall police target drivers using mobiles

A campaign targeting motorists who use mobile phones to access social media sites while they drive has begun.
Devon and Cornwall police said it was a "particular focus" during Operation Vortex, which runs until 2 April.
The force said it will also target those not wearing seat belts, speeding, and drink driving.
In 2010, research by the RAC suggested one in five motorists in the South West admitted to checking social media alerts on their phones while driving.
The police said that during the campaign, main roads would be targeted by unmarked vehicles.
Inspector Richard Pryce, from the roads policing unit, said: "We want the motoring public to know that in spite of the cuts being made, we are not going to ease up when it comes to keeping people safe on the roads."
Mr Pryce added: "Those who drive responsibly and do not flout the law have nothing to fear."
