The jury has gone out in the Old Bailey trial of a wife and daughter accused of murdering a man who vanished more than 10 years ago.

Don Banfield, 63, was last seen leaving the family home in Wealdstone, north-west London, in May 2001.

Shirley Banfield, 64, and her daughter Lynette Banfield, 40, of Ashford Road, Canterbury, Kent, deny his murder.

They are accused of murdering him after he signed a contract selling the family home, resulting in a £120,000 profit.

They have admitted fraudulently claiming Mr Banfield's pensions.
