Work on park and rides between Reading and Wokingham starts

Work is to start later this month to build two park and ride sites between Reading and Wokingham.
The car parks at Mereoak and Winnersh Triangle, in Berkshire, will include nearly 1,000 parking spaces.
Reading council has said the scheme will contribute to better air quality through increased use of public transport.
Both will be built simultaneously and construction is due to be completed in late spring 2015.
In addition to parking, they will eventually provide charging points for electric cars.
The Mereoak site, at Mereoak Lane, Grazeley, will provide 579 parking spaces and improved paths and cycle ways alongside the car park.
The Winnersh Triangle park and ride will have 390 spaces and replace the current location at Loddon Bridge.
Two Reading park and ride schemes are currently in place to Loddon Bridge and the Madejski Stadium.
