Wolverhampton City Council has released images that give a glimpse inside a new £14.9m leisure centre.

The artist's impressions show the health and fitness suite at the new building in Bilston.

Other facilities will include a 25m pool, sports hall and squash courts.

Named after former England and Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Bert Williams, the council said the centre was due to open in late autumn.

Earlier in the year, the city council unanimously voted the site should honour Williams who was made an MBE in November for his services to football and charity.

The new facility will replace the existing Bilston Leisure Centre which dates from the 1960s and is scheduled to close "around the same time" that the new facility opens.
