Great Birmingham Run: 15,000 sign up for half marathon
- Published
Fifteen thousand runners have signed up for a half marathon event taking place in Birmingham.
Organisers of the Bupa Great Birmingham Run said the event had now reached its entry limit.
The televised run, which was formerly known as the Birmingham Half Marathon, will be staged in the city on 23 October.
Councillor Martin Mullaney, Birmingham cabinet member for leisure, sport and culture, described it as great news.
"We are proud of how the event has become an important feature in the sporting calendar and this year's 15,000 runners can be sure of fantastic support from the people of Birmingham," he added.
