Police have issued images of the actual car and a model of the type of car thought to have hit Surinder Kaur as she crossed Soho Road.

A woman knocked over and killed as she crossed a road has been named, as police urge the driver to contact them.

Surinder Kaur, aged 61, was crossing Soho Road in Birmingham, outside the Guru Nanak temple, on Friday afternoon, when she was hit by a car which was travelling towards the city.

The driver stopped at the scene but then drove away, police said.

The car is thought to be a Vauxhall Astra VXR Arctic with a distinctive black roof and wing mirrors.

It is a limited edition model and will have damage to the front nearside bumper, a spokesman said.
