Two people have appeared before magistrates charged with the manslaughter of a man in Bristol.

Matthew James Hill, 31 and Michaela Sweeting, 38, both of William Street, Totterdown, are next due to appear before Bristol Crown Court on 24 June.

It follows an incident in the Quaker Memorial Garden off Redcliff Hill on Tuesday evening.

Robert Hines, 56, from Horfield, Bristol, suffered serious head injuries and died in hospital on Wednesday.

Mr Hill and Ms Sweeting have been remanded in custody until their crown court appearance.
