A lifeboat rescued the family and a helicopter airlifted the couple to safety from Bedruthan Steps

A family and a couple have been rescued from rocks at a beach in north Cornwall.

Two adults with three children, aged between nine and 14, and a couple have been rescued from Bedruthan Steps.

The family was rescued by the Newquay lifeboat and taken to the town's harbour. The couple was airlifted by rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose.

A spokesman from the RNLI said both rescues happened between 16:15-16:30 BST and no-one was injured.
