New journal launched for primary school children in Cornwall

A journal scheme has been launched in Cornwall to help children at primary school better understand their emotions.
The interactive workbook has been created by Headstart Kernow and Cornwall Council in consultation with schools.
It comes as teachers have said mental health and wellbeing is a growing issue for eight to 11-year-old pupils.
Councillor Barbara Ellenbroek said she wants people to "have fun with it".
The journal, which can be downloaded online, contains a range of activities and information for young people to work through at school, at home or on the move.
Hard copies will be available to local children through their schools.
It will be officially launched at an event on Wednesday at the Hall for Cornwall in Truro.
Ms Ellenbroek, cabinet member for children and families, said: she wants children and young people "to be physically and mentally healthy, feel safe and have a sense of belonging in their schools and communities, all of which can help remove barriers to education and allow more children to enjoy, learn and achieve.
"My message to parents, carers and children is to visit the website and download the worksheets or the whole journal, to use whenever you like, as often as you like, and most importantly, have fun with it!"
Some of the aims of the journal are to improve self-esteem, help children understand and manage their feelings and give strategies to manage uncomfortable feelings.
