Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has unveiled plans to develop a former airfield site in Warwickshire and relocate 300 workers.

It bought the site in Fen End, near Wroxall, in September and wants to move its vehicle operations team there.

The workers are currently based at three sites - two in Coventry and one in Gaydon.

Plans for the former Honiley Airfield include a new building and a roundabout to help traffic flow.

'More efficient'

Planning manager Sukhi Clark said: "We have chosen to develop Fen End because it is perfectly located within a short distance of our engineering and manufacturing centres.

"Currently, our vehicle operations team is split across three different locations and the new development at Fen End will bring the team together in one location, which is more efficient and environmentally friendly."

Planning permission is expected to be sought in the next few weeks.

The site, a former test track, had been owned by Prodrive, a firm with strong links to Formula One.

JLR's vehicle operations team prepares and refines vehicles for global events and product launches.

The Fen End plans were being showcased at Berkswell and Balsall Rugby Club on Thursday and Friday.
