Wasdale Mountain Rescue issues avalanche warning
- Published
Fell walkers in Cumbria have been warned to be prepared for avalanche conditions over the Easter weekend.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team has described conditions as unique for this time of year due to the amount of snow in recent weeks.
The team said compacted snow had got more icy throughout the week, making many paths hazardous.
"Perhaps the most striking risk at the moment is avalanche," the team said in a statement.
