Buxton minor injuries unit: Resuming normal hours
- Published
A Derbyshire minor injuries unit that was forced to cut back its opening hours due to staffing problems is reverting to normal operations.
The Buxton Hospital unit was open for 10 hours a day instead of 12 hours from April due to a lack of trained staff.
Derbyshire County NHS Trust said it would open from 08:00 to 22:00 daily starting on Monday.
Trust spokesman Anna Baker said the hospital was "delighted" that the unit would resume regular opening hours.
""We need specialist practitioners to run this unit - although we did go to agency and colleagues to work extra hours - there was an absolute limit as to what we could get in place," she said.
The unit treats minor infections, rashes, sprains, cuts, stings and minor burns.
