An extra £200,000 is to be put into funding services for victims of domestic violence in Devon, the county council has said.

Charities saw their funding from Devon County Council cut for the 2011/12 financial year.

The authority said it was now planning on contributing a total of £500,000 to the Domestic Violence Partnership for the 2012/13 year.

The partnership helps to fund various charities working with victims.
