A man reported missing is believed to have been captured on CCTV nearly two weeks after his disappearance, police have said.

Neil Allen, from Wimborne, Dorset, had been due to meet friends on 13 February but never turned up.

Dorset Police said newly-obtained CCTV appeared to show the 41-year-old in a shop in Canford Bottom on 26 February.

Officers believe he is staying in the area and are appealing to him to make contact with worried relatives.

The CCTV showed Mr Allen in One Stop in Dales Drive, near the junction with Canford Bottom, at 20:18 GMT.

Previously, the last sighting of him had been in Leigh Road, Wimborne, between 21:30 and 22:00 on 13 February.

Ch Insp David Parr, of Dorset Police, said: "Our enquiries lead us to believe that Neil is likely staying in the Wimborne local area.

"I am therefore also repeating my appeal to Neil - if you see this to please make contact with your friends or family to reassure everyone that you are safe and well."
