An appeal by the mother and sister of a teenager stabbed to death near to where a house party was under way in Essex has brought little response.
Detectives investigating the murder of Clacton student Jay Whiston in Colchester have been left disappointed.
The 17-year-old was fatally stabbed on Marlowe Way shortly after 22:00 BST on 8 September.
On his 18th birthday an appeal was made for information about his killer but only a handful of calls was received.
The fatally wounded teenager, from Aster Close in Clacton, died a short time after arrival at hospital.
A provisional post-mortem examination result showed that he died from a stab wound to the heart.
Four people from Colchester are on police bail until 22 March after arrest on suspicion of murder.
Four other people were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and are also on police bail until March pending further inquiries.
