Part-time firefighters sought in Gloucestershire
- Published
Open evenings are to be run in six Gloucestershire towns to try to recruit more retained firefighters.
Applicants are needed in Dursley, Cinderford, Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold, Newent and Nailsworth.
They need to be over 18, reasonably fit and healthy, and live or work within five minutes of their fire station.
The volunteers are paid a monthly retainer plus call-out fee and are on call at home or at work to be able to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day.
Details of the open evenings, which take place in March, are posted on the fire service website, external.
